Maharashtra Congress seeks Parliament session to debate crime in opposition to girls


Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee spokesperson Sachin Sawant has demanded a particular session of Parliament to debate atrocities in opposition to girls.

This follows Maharashtra Governor B S Koshiyari asking the state to carry a two-day Meeting session to debate the difficulty after the Sakinaka rape case, and saying that the Shakti Act which has been delayed must be handed.

Talking to the media, Sawant mentioned that in the course of the Devendra Fadnavis authorities, in 2019 there have been 47 gangrapes within the state and now the quantity is 20.

“In 2019, 37,144 crimes in opposition to girls had been registered and the Fadnavis authorities tenure was a darkish period for ladies. In the course of the MVA authorities, circumstances decreased to 31,954 by 2020. Therefore, we second CM Uddhav Thackeray’s demand for a particular session of Parliament to debate atrocities in opposition to girls as we’re involved in regards to the state of girls in BJP-ruled states,” Sawant mentioned.
